What's new?

Pretty much nothing... as I continue to save up for my BT, only thing I have done is changed over to some Crystal Clear/Clear/Red/Red tail lights. The fit is only so so, but it looks alright. I have plans to smoke them so they match the car better, it seems way too bright for me right now.

I also have an annoying rattle by the cluster and I am slowly working it out and tracing down the exact source. Maybe I'll find some special way to put the cluster back on to where this problem won't keep occuring? Guess we'll have to stay tuned :P

Checking in

I haven't said anything for a while, so I thought I'd make a post. My corolla blew a head gasket, and I am finding time to work on that instead.

The FMIC runs icey cold which I love. When I have time, I would like to do lots of logs on the car and fine tune it some more. Looking at the new GIAC X+ results, I am sure I can set my E01 to hold some more boost up top.

Eurojet is offering tbolt clamps for their FMICs!!! So if you ordered their IC when they first came out like I did, then you can request for some tbolt clamps FREE OF CHARGE.

The car was washed and waxed on Tuesday, but the wax is still on the car as of this moment (hope that wax has hardened ;)). But it feels good to know that the car is actually super shiny... even though I can't tell as of this point! Haha.

FMIC: Looking in...

Grounding issues suck

Well after cleaning out the 3 major grounds on the car (2 under battery tray, and 1 behind the driver side kick panel... I rechecked the battery and it was less than 50% charged (<12.2v)! So tomorrow I will try to source out a new battery until I can get the warranty honored by costco for my current battery.

This is the car's second battery in 47k mi that has gone out... sigh... Atleast this costco battery is under warranty and should be replaced free of charge :)

ICE for the engine

Spring Break is GREAT. Lots of relaxation, try not to think about anything school related... too bad it's now Easter Sunday and tons of homework is once again due tomorrow :(

I was able to get my Eurojet V2 FMIC installed though! Yes the install can get fairly involving considering it's just a bolt on. I took lots of pictures during the install, so feel free to request for something if you need help installing the FMIC or removing the OE SMIC.

The FMIC feels GREAT, one side is always ice cold. I love it!

I did feel like I had trim an unusual amount off the bumper and valence, but Eurojet is sending me some new Tbolt clamps. When install the new clamps, I'll realign and readjust the piping to hopefully make it fit even better.

I still want to do some timing logs to see if I am still pulling timing. If I'm not, lemmiwinks here I come! I would also like to fine tune my E01. I currently have the overtake boost mode set to 20psi, but it never hurts to squeeze out everything that I can out of it.

How fast is the car? I had a chance to test it, against an early 4.6L (mid to late 90s) cobra! We were tied at the end of second, after which I had to shut down due to some escort cutting me off. But the great news is that I tied him running my low boost mode (15psi). So I could definately had taken him if I had shifted to overtake boost mode (20psi) :)

E-01 Installed!

The E-01 is in!

With the help of some friends, we were done in a couple of hours! (Thank

Installation: The install was straight forward, just follow the directions in the instruction manual. I do recommend having a friend that knows how to take apart pieces of the car (such as the dash, cluster, etc). The E-01 has some RPM features that are very useful. You can record boost logs with RPM for more useful readouts, you can adjust the duty at designated RPM points to give you the boost curve you really want. I have a 2001, so I used the brown/green wire on the cluster (blue connector, pin 11) for my RPM signal. Note: Remove ALL the caps from the boost control solenoid. I left the cap that's suppose to vent excess boost out and my boost surged a lot as well as very hard to tune.

After some simple wire management and a couple small holds in the back of the glovebox. The E-01 can be hidden nicely in the glovebox incase anyone gets funny ideas about breaking into my car or when a cop pulls me over (hopefully never).

It's raining tonight so I am not able to tune the E-01, I tried to tune it last night but I had left the extra cap on the solenoid plugged in and my settings are all different now. What a waste of a quarter tank! haha.

Yes my car is lowered :| Doesn't seem as low though because I turned the wheel all the way right.

Farther shot

Aw sookie sookie...

One of the pictures I took from a few days ago. Bright enough to see during a sunset! The reason that the headlight housing seems to reflect the light is because it's joey matched! As in I painted it body color (gloss black), not matte black like the typical joey mod.
