6/15/2003: On "Father's Day"
Happy Father's Day to all the men...
- who postponed their artistic callling - in pursuit of the success of their children...
- who encouraged their children to be creative individuals...
- who never said, "I'm trying to draw - go bug your mother!"...
- who painted their children as favorite subjects....
- who exposed the little ones to the rich history of artists and their works....
- who cooked up Picasso pancakes and Manet hamburgers....
- who put up with a crappy job just to pay the bills...
- who never poked fun at their children's "fridge art"...
- who didn't _really_ get mad at their daughter for (AHEM) "borrowing" their art materials... ;-)
- who trimmed the front yard bushes into animal shapes...
- who asked for our advice...
- who never ceases to amaze us with their vast knowledge of life and love...
- and finally, to he who knows that "real" art, is the art of life, carved from Dear Old Dad.
